SMS Policy

This SMS Policy describes how The Corner Post ("we," "us," or "our") handles mobile and text message communications. We are committed to respecting your privacy and complying with all applicable laws governing SMS communications, including the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) and CTIA guidelines.

1. Current SMS Status

The Corner Post does not currently operate an SMS or text message marketing program. We do not send promotional or informational text messages to subscribers at this time. If and when we introduce an SMS program, this policy will be updated and we will obtain your explicit written consent before sending any messages.

2. Consent

If we launch an SMS program in the future, we will only send text messages to individuals who have explicitly opted in by providing their mobile phone number and affirmatively consenting to receive SMS communications from The Corner Post. Consent will never be a condition of subscribing to our email digest or accessing our content.

3. Types of Messages

Any future SMS communications from The Corner Post would be limited to: breaking news alerts for Hull and Sioux County, weekly digest reminders, and important community safety notifications. We will clearly identify ourselves as the sender in every message.

4. Message Frequency

If an SMS program is introduced, message frequency will be disclosed at the time of opt-in. We will not send more messages than described at the time of enrollment.

5. Message and Data Rates

Standard message and data rates may apply to any text messages sent or received. These charges are determined by your mobile carrier. The Corner Post does not charge any additional fees for SMS communications.

6. How to Opt Out

If you are enrolled in any future SMS program from The Corner Post, you may opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message you receive from us. After opting out, you will receive one final confirmation message and will not receive further SMS communications unless you re-enroll.

7. Help

If you need assistance with an SMS program, reply HELP to any message from us or contact us directly at the address below. We will respond promptly.

8. Privacy of Mobile Numbers

We will never sell, share, or rent your mobile phone number to third parties for their marketing purposes. Your mobile number will only be used to send you the communications you have consented to receive from The Corner Post.

9. Supported Carriers

Any future SMS program will be compatible with all major U.S. wireless carriers. Carrier support is not guaranteed for all carriers. The Corner Post is not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this SMS Policy at any time. Material changes will be communicated to enrolled subscribers via SMS or email prior to taking effect. Your continued participation in any SMS program after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
