The Sheldon Community Ambulance Team, known locally as SCAT, is hosting its annual fundraiser supper on Tuesday evening, May 19, giving area residents an opportunity to support the volunteer emergency medical service that serves the Sheldon community and surrounding areas.
SCAT provides emergency medical response and ambulance transport services to Sheldon and the surrounding region. As a community-supported organization, the team relies on fundraising events like the annual supper to help offset operational costs and maintain equipment and training standards.
Dianne Wolthuizen from SCAT appeared on KIWA Radio's Talk of the Town podcast on May 18 to discuss the event and encourage community participation. She highlighted the importance of local support for the volunteer service, which operates around the clock to respond to medical emergencies in the area.
Community members are encouraged to attend the supper and show their support for the dedicated volunteers who staff SCAT. The event serves as both a fundraiser and a community gathering that recognizes the contributions of the team's members.
SCAT has long been a vital part of Sheldon's emergency services infrastructure, working alongside the Sheldon Fire Department and law enforcement to provide comprehensive emergency response coverage for the city and surrounding O'Brien County communities.
